Cheap QRP Ham Radio Life

This blog is about my Ham Radio Life. Especially, This is the QRP category, I am QRPer. So I like homebrew the Radios,Transmitters, Receivers and QRP Operation.

Stinger Singrer

I made this kit.
This is Norcal QRP CLUB Kis. But now it's already Retired kit, so we can not buy this. I bought this at Dayton ARCI QRP FDIM last yaer(2008).
It's very interesting frequency counter. It readout the frequency by using Morse code.
URL is Stinger Singer.

This is very useful for my QRP homebrew life.

2m FM QRPp TX

I made 2m-FM-TX. It's Sweetfish 2.
It's used just 3 Transistors. The RF output is just 15mW.
It's very simple and easy for QRPp.
This original circuit is designed by JF1RNR.

Many JARL QRP CLUB members join the competition of Total Power/km for using this TX. But I have never QSO with this TX.

I putted this into Altoids Tin. Ha Ha!!

8J1P/1 Operate Day6

I operated 8J1P/1 last night.

QTH JCC110303 Time 18:30-22:30

Day Time Freq MODE QSO's
0525 1830-1923 7013.0kHz CW 38
0525 1930-2040 3511.0kHz CW 36(JA1AA/QRP)
0525 2040-2105 1911.0kHz CW 14(JA1AA/QRP x 2)
0525 2110-2230 7007.0kHz CW 20(DX x 4 , 8J240M/2, JA0AA)
7011.2kHz CW
7012.5kHz CW
7017.0kHz CW
Total 108

RIG is FT-817 @ 7MHz、1.9MHz/3.5MHz @ K2 without Noise. All QSO were operated with 5watts.
Last night,I called back on 3.5MHz, then after QSO,We did QSY to 1.9MHz and QSO on 160m. Then I operated on 3.5MHz after few minutes, finally, He called me on 1.9MHz and QSO, so totally I had QSO 3 times with JA1AA/QRP one night. I was very grad to QSO with him on Low band. JA1AA/QRP Mr Shono( Hisa )'s Signal is very strong with just only 1watt,and it was RST 599+.
Also, I had QSO with 8J240M/2(Special Event Station for Extension 40m band in Japan). Finally, I had 4 QSOs with DX (W stations).these are K0JY,NK7Z,K6KII,N6TI, I already have 3 or 4 times QSOs with N6TI、K6KII..
Then especially at night time operation, I have many QSOs with 2 letter suffix call in JA. By now, there are JA1AA,JA3AA,JA0AA etc....It's very amazing!!

8J1P/1 Operate Day5

I operated 8J1P/1 Station last night.

JCC110303 20:41-22:30(JST=UST+9)

Day Time Freq MODE QSOs
0520 2040-2217 7008.5kHz CW 59(DX x 2)
0520 2219-2230 1910.0kHz CW 2
Total 61

Today, 1.9MHz is very noisy, so It's BF.
I operated on 7MHz(40m band).
I used FT-817/5w and DP antenna. I used K2/5w by last time.
I felt K2 S/N ratio is better than FT-817. I felt this on 1.9MHz(160m bamd) last night. FT-817 had very loud set noise and environment noise, otherwise K2 is very silently sound and very good clarification(R). I also had QSO with two DX stations(K6KII HL4CJJ).
I had 3 QSOs with K6KII. Thank you so much!! CUAGN!! 73

8J1P/1 Operate Day4

I had a operation of 8J1P/1 Station last night.
JCC110303 18:30-23:00(JST=UST+9)

Day Time(JST=UST+9) Freq MODE QSOs
0513 1830-1845 7112.0kHz CW 5
0513 1846-2040 7007.0kHz CW 94(DX x 2)
0513 2110-2120 7009.0kHz CW 1(DX x 1)
0513 2120-2140 3509.0kHz CW 2
0513 2143-2205 1910.0kHz CW 6
0513 2210-2225 7004.0kHz CW 4(DX x 3)
0513 2225-2240 7010.0kHz CW 5(DX x 2)
0513 2240-2250 7009.5kHz CW 2
0513 2250-2300 7009.0kHz CW 2
Total 121

Last night, 3.5MHz was very noisy.
Mainly, I operated on the 7MHz band.
Total 8 DX stations called for me. It was very exciting.
One was a QRP station in Russia .
Finally, I could not pick up one DX station with very weak signal RST 339-229 in the noise.
